Staff Spotlight: Jaeann Duenas, Recovery Therapist
Meet Jaeann! Jaeann is a Recovery Therapist for Epiphany Center’s Residential Recovery program, one of the agency’s two sites for San Francisco women and their young children, providing support in parenting, independent living skills, and positive communication skills.
Jaeann is an integral part of Epiphany’s program. She treats everyone, whether clients, staff, or volunteers with warmth, kindness, and respect. Her calming demeanor and commitment to the women’s well-being are evident in all she does.
After earning a B.A. in sociology from St. Mary’s College, Jaeann worked in a residential treatment program for teens, while completing her master’s degree in the same field. Drawn to Epiphany’s mission of serving the city’s most vulnerable women, Jaeann joined the agency nearly one year ago as the Residential Clinical Coordinator before recently taking on the role of Recovery Therapist. In her prior position, she focused on the women’s experiences while in residence, including leading regular Wellness Walks where the women learned to cope with stress by taking a stroll and enjoying the outdoors.
“I am very excited about my new position as a therapist. In this role, I can be more hands on with the women’s treatment. I get to be the one who follows up on how they are progressing with their goals. I have the opportunity to be the person whom they confide in, and help them process,” says Jaeann.
We are so grateful that Jaeann is part of Epiphany’s team. Thank you, Jaeann for sharing your many talents to help us move our mission forward!
